I · Before you play
Step 1 / 15
Create your account
Goal One account for the game and this website.
- Pick a login and a password you don't use anywhere else.
- Use a real email address; it's the only way to recover your password.
I · Before you play
Step 2 / 15
Install the game
Goal Download the client and let the patcher bring it up to date.
- Download the Windows installer and install it where you like.
- Start the game from the patcher; it downloads the latest patches before each session.
Tip Stuck at this step? Ask on Discord, the team and players answer quickly.
II · Awakening
Step 3 / 15
Watch the opening
Goal Choose your language, then watch the story of how Midgard fell, or skip it.
The opening tells where you come from. Skipping it costs you nothing.
- Pick your language when the game asks.
- Choose to watch the story (about five minutes). At each change of scene, you can skip to the awakening.
Tip Don't pick the Training Room unless you want a test character, it stays there for good.
II · Awakening
Step 4 / 15
Wake up with Titania
Goal Choose your Zodiac sign and put on your starter gear.
- You wake up in the Training Grounds. Talk to Titania and choose a Zodiac sign; it gives you a lasting bonus.
- Open your inventory with Alt+E and double-click everything she gave you. Her Charm goes in the second equipment window.
- Talk to her again; Nava, your fairy, takes over from there.
Tip Feeling lost at any time? Type @nava, she reminds you what to do and shows you the way.
II · Awakening
Step 5 / 15
Train in the Training Grounds
Goal Follow Nava through the school and its fields, one station at a time.
Every station teaches one thing, by doing it. By the end you know everything you need for Midgard.
- Great hall: Healer Mira teaches you First Aid. Put it in your shortcut bar (F12) and use it. The class masters show you what their job does.
- North alcove: the Kugan Sage helps you choose your first specialization, and gives you 5 Kugan points.
- Meadow: hit the Training Dummy, then defeat 5 Porings.
- East pasture: Keeper Elma gives you a mount. Use the Basic Mount Reins from your inventory, then Mount Acceleration.
- Southern fields: train until Job Level 10. Sit down with Insert to recover faster.
Tip You can come back to the Training Grounds whenever you like; ask the Guide of Midgard.
II · Awakening
Step 6 / 15
Choose your job and travel to Midgard
Goal At the stone circle, become a Swordman, Thief, Merchant, Acolyte, Archer or Mage, then cast Return to Midgard.
Your job decides your skills; your Kugans let you borrow from any other job.
- Talk to Valkyrie Luccia to choose your first job.
- Titania teaches you Return to Midgard, Equip Switch, Summon Pet and your Zodiac skill.
- Open your skills (Alt+S) and cast Return to Midgard to reach the capital.
III · Midgard, your new home
Step 7 / 15
Find your way in Midgard
Goal Ask the Guide, right where you arrive, to show you a place whenever you need it.
Midgard holds everything you'll use later. You don't need to remember it all today.
- Talk to the Guide and pick a place; the navigation shows you the way.
- He can also take you back to the Training Grounds, to practise again.
III · Midgard, your new home
Step 8 / 15
Follow Nava's lessons
Goal Do the nine little lessons Nava gives you around Midgard, at your own pace.
Each one shows you one place of the city and gives a good chunk of experience at low level.
- The Stable, the bank, the markets, the smithy, High Garden, the inn and the Academy.
- Your quest log (Alt+U) always shows the current lesson, and @nava shows you the way. You can skip a lesson with @nava.
Tip These lessons are one of the fastest ways to gain your first levels.
III · Midgard, your new home
Step 9 / 15
Live Titania's story
Goal After the lessons, follow the eight chapters of the story, from the lake statue to Rivendel.
You'll find out what the green light is, and why Titania brought you here.
- Each chapter is one quest in your log, titled "Story 1/8" to "Story 8/8".
- The story is optional; you can skip any chapter with @nava.
IV · Growing stronger
Step 10 / 15
Level up your first job
Goal Reach Job Level 40 or more.
- Good hunting grounds for first jobs include Payon Dungeon, the fields south of Payon, Moscovia Dungeon and the Geographers.
- The Eden Group has quests for every level: ask the Valkyrie of Midgard (Special > Eden Group).
- Keep doing Nava's lessons and the daily quests along the way.
Tip Nava suggests waiting for Job Level 50 before changing job, to start your second job stronger.
IV · Growing stronger
Step 11 / 15
Spend your Kugan points
Goal Grow your specialization as your Kugan level rises.
- Kugan skills go up together; your first skill can reach level 5 at Kugan level 21.
- After that, spend your points however you like.
IV · Growing stronger
Step 12 / 15
Change to your second job
Goal At Job Level 40 or more, return to the castle for your second job.
No skill points are lost; the job changer can give back the missing ones for job experience.
- Talk to the job changer in the castle.
- There is no rebirth on DARO; your transcendent job comes later, at Job Level 30 of your second job.
V · The long ascent
Step 13 / 15
Add a second specialization
Goal At Kugan level 51, choose a second specialization.
- Go back to the Library and pick a second book.
- Mix families freely; that's where unique builds are born.
V · The long ascent
Step 14 / 15
Beyond level 99
Goal Discover Reborns and the Mastery levels (100 to 103).
- Reborns and Mastery are both handled at the Library in Midgard.
- Each Mastery rank (Master, Hero, Legend, Half God) has its own challenge.
V · The long ascent
Step 15 / 15
Join the activities
Goal Try the dungeons, Elite monsters, Battlegrounds and the War of Emperium.
- Elite monsters and MVPs drop the best gear on the server.
- Join a guild for the War of Emperium every week.
