Introduction

Overtime, we've created 3 long-story quest.

The first one was the Story Quest of Realm RO (2nd server of Mystic Project). The boss was Myria. Just to give you an idea, the main variable was updated 181 times, that means there was more than 181 tasks to do, this was a very how long the main quest.

The second one was Chronicles of Shadows , an alternative Main Quest of GaRO (3rd server of Mystic Project). It was a long animated quest, full of challenges, automated NPCs scenes. The bosses were Nekraa and Ikkyu (Available as an Annexe Quest)

The last one was the story quest of DgRO (4th opus of Mystic Project), which occured in custom maps that we use now as Midgard North. Each task was made to move forward into those custom maps.

Here, we will see one main story quest which happen in Midgard North, followed by an Annexe Main Quest (2nd long-story quest of Mystic Project) and Side stories Quests.

Prologue : Encounter with Fate

BaseLv 86 - A Meeting with Destiny (Quest 1)

The player meets a fortune teller in Midgard who explains to him that his fate awaits him in the forest of Payon, that it will be terrible and relentless but that it will also allow him to put an end to the suffering of countless innocent people. as well as to close his own wounds ... The player will find out what the hell is going on at pay_fild05, in the middle of the forest, where a dying Rivendel elf (and a little further south two dead companions) mumbles inconsistent remarks about a message intended for a recluse. In the region. The elf deliriously names this person's name: Elm. Then she repeats the key phrase that constitutes her message, a cryptic and incomprehensible message. Then hop, she breaks her pipe, her wounds being too deep / fatal. The player just has to get his hands on this famous "Elm", visibly reclusive in the region. Elm is located somewhere in the forest of Payon (anywhere or that's fine, ideally he has a house outside, I don't know if we have that somewhere) and receives the message with some caution. Like that out of the blue he doesn't really know if he can trust the player or what the message means, but he has his own idea about the latter. Since he needs to believe in the player, and information, he asks the player to investigate those who took the life of the elf while waiting for him to decipher the message. To do this, the elf explains that you have to do a little research in Payon or Alberta to see someone seen the scene in the forest or the elf in the city. In the first case you have to ask the hunters who chat / meet in the bars / taverns, in the second you have to ask the sailors if they will see an elf accost here. Indeed the elves come from Rivendel so she must have come by sea, which would explain her presence here (Alberta being the closest port to Payon). Payon the player learns from a hunter that not long ago the forest was invaded more than usual by monsters, the hunt was impossible that evening (and the man thinks that there is little chances that someone could have entered the forest and come out that evening). In Alberta an itinerant trader explains the same thing about the forest. At the port a sailor confirms having seen the elf and 3 other companions, they were discreet but not enough to escape the curious gaze of this sailor there. There should be a lot of PNJs who answer things off the mark, maybe even that the right PNJ each time is only one of several randomly defined when the quest is there, history that the solution is not known in advance: You have to question people. Back with this information, Orme says a way needs to be found to "view" the murder scene, as there are no witnesses, and he offers to enlist the help of a time mage. Obviously he will quickly come back to what the player told him the first time around and the fact that he didn't mention companions. Obviously these were already dead by the time the player crossed the elf ... The mage, named Chronomos, is in Geffen and he offers to create a time watcher, an artifact he invented but requires some prerequisites for that (to loot). The loots in question require killing trash (1095 (Needle_Of_Alarm) x 100, 7093 (Wheel) x20, 2717 (Pocket_Watch_) x1) but also some small MVPs (2246 (Golden_Gear), 638 (Silver_Knife_Of_Chaste), 2268 (Smoking_Pipe), 1008 (Frozen_Heart), 5019 (Corsair), 7300 (Gemstone), 5096 (Assassin_Mask_), 10020 (Sword_Of_Grave_Keeper), 2258 (Sharp_Gear), 1815 (Claw_Of_Garm). And zenys, obviously, a lot. near the beach of Comodo The mage explains that the mechanical tools are there to create the object and the objects from the legendary creatures are there for the ritual which infuses the gift of seeing the past into the object. Once the Observer is in hand, the player can return to near where they found the Elf dead and can use the Observer to review the scene. The scene: The elf and his companions are in the forest. They march north and are stopped by a horde of Dark Illusions. One of the elves disappears without his companions seeing it. Then the elves defend themselves against the horde of Dark Illusions… Illusions are defeated but as the fight rages on two elves are slain. Eventually the elf manages to overcome the last illusions ... Before Dark Lord himself appears, accompanied by other illusions. The elf stammers a "why ...?" as the mortal combat begins. She loses her life at this point.

BaseLv 88 - In Search of Murderers (Quest 2)

Summary: The player's task now is to understand what prompted Dark Lord to interfere in the elf's affairs. For this the elf knows another mage, a necromancer, able to craft something to "see" in the soul / memory of the dead. He therefore offers to seek his help in order to obtain the Watcher of the Dead. Obviously the mage in question asks for gear (to loot). Once the Observer is in hand, the player can go and kill Dark Lord. Then he can use his observer and see the scene. Dark Lord sees a human figure, a dark mercenary, approaching him. As his illusions appear and he seems determined to kill the intruder, the intruder wields something and Dark Lord appears to be possessed. The man whispers words to him ... and orders him to track down the approaching elf on the run. The man whispering in Dark Lord's ear leaves and Dark Lord seems to nod silently. The man wears a distinctive brooch, possibly the crest of an order. The recluse elf learns all this thoughtfully and thanks the player for his help and explains that he needs him again.
